Mary’s Boon hotel
Often referred to as “St. Maarten’s little secret”, Mary’s Boon is a boutique hotel located on Simpson Bay Beach, in southern St. Maarten. 31 comfortably furnished and imaginatively decorated units offer both beachfront and garden views. Both the setup and the staff at Mary’s Boon make sure you experience a truly laidback and relaxing Caribbean stay. There is an outdoor pool, gift shop, wine cellar, and spa services onsite. An excellent in-house restaurant, The Tides, also services a dining cabana on the beach, while an honour bar is open 24-7, serviced by a bartender in the afternoons and evenings.
Mary’s Boon has private access to Simpson Bay Beach, a mostly residential beach, uninterrupted by high-rise buildings and commercial buzz. White sand stretches for miles while the glittering turquoise water calmly beckons. Comfortable beach lounge chairs and umbrellas are available to guests, or for a change of scenery, take a short walk down the beach to Karakter beach lounge for excellent food, drinks, and ambiance. Around the rocky point at the end of the bay, Burgeaux Bay is a small natural bay where the teeming tropical reef provides exciting snorkeling. At the opposite end of Simpson bay lies Kim Sha Beach for a more social setting. Home to the annual Heineken Regatta finale party, concert, and awards ceremony, Kim Sha is serviced by La Bamba and Buccaneer’s beach bar and grills. From food and drink, to live music, bonfires, and movie screenings, the entertainment never stops.
While Simpson Bay Beach offers serenity and quiet, the bustling village of Simpson Bay is a convenient stroll just a minute inland from the bay. Amenities are endless. Grocery stores, banks, post office, gas station, pharmacies, doctors’ offices, boutiques, salons, and more are here. For entertainment, check out one of the many casinos, bars, international and local restaurants, movie theater, dive shops, water sports, marinas, and even an old fashioned carousel and ice cream parlour. Simpson Bay is a five-minute drive to St. Maarten Montessori School in Cole Bay and a ten-minute drive to Learning Unlimited in Cay Hill.
