Each unit is equipped with a private, covered veranda, facing out over the bay to offer endless views of sea, sky, and emerald tropical mountains. Simpson Bay Beach is a mostly residential and highly sought after neighborhood in St. Maarten. Convenient to a bustling commercial and tourist district, the beach is reminiscent of old St. Maarten, free of highrise buildings, large resorts, and commercial buzz. The beach is an endless stretch of white sand, gently arcing between palm and sea grape trees and the turquoise blues of the ocean. Usually calm surf is great for swimming and soaking up the healing salt water. Karakter beach bar and lounge unobtrusively offers drinks and dining, as well as live jazz music on Friday evenings. For excellent snorkeling, head west to the neighboring Burgeaux Bay. For a more social setting, your neighbor to the east, just across the Dutch Side drawbridge, is Kim Sha Beach, with many options for dining, drinks, and dancing on the beach.
The town of Simpson Bay is a bustling hub for residents, the marine community, and tourists alike. Gas stations, grocery stores, pharmacies, doctors’ offices, salons, banks, post office and more are all conveniently located on the main strip. Entertainment options are numerous, from a movie theater, to international restaurants ranging from 5-star to casual, bars, nightclubs, boutiques, spas, dive shops and water sports, boating and yachting marinas, and more.
