St Maarten Airport
Princess Juliana International Airport:
Princess Juliana International Airport (http://www.pjiae.com/) is located in southwestern St. Maarten, between Simpson Bay and Maho. The busiest airport in the northeastern Caribbean, behind only San Juan, PJIA services both St. Maarten and St. Martin, with flights to the US, Europe, Canada, and throughout the Caribbean. Flights 7 days a week are available to Atlanta, Charlotte, Miami, New York, Paris, and Philadelphia.
PJIA started as a small military base in 1942. Converted to a civilian airport in 1943, the first of its kind in the region, PJIA now offers extensive duty-free retail, restaurants, a day spa, wifi, and the VIP Soualiga Lounge. Arriving passengers to the friendly island are traditionally greeted with a complimentary taste of island rum punch and soft music from steel pan drums. Amenities include an island visitor’s booth, where agents offer maps and assistance, as well as curbside taxi service, limousine, and rental car services.
A list of rental car services include: Adventure Car Rental, American Car Rentals, Avis car rental, Best Deal car rental, Hertz Car Rental, Lucky Car Rental, Paradise Island Car rental, Safari car rental, Sidro United, Sunshine Car Rental, and Thrifty Car Rental.
